RIP William Orbit

(2026/08/07) RIP William Orbit, 15.12.1956 – 23.07.2026

When the idea of commissioning remixes from external producers and artists for single and album releases grew increasingly popular in the late 1980s, we were not always happy with every such attempt. In the case of the remixes of „Love Is A Shield“ by William Orbit, however, our then American record label Atlantic Records scored a direct hit. Sadly, we never got to meet William in person and were never able to thank him for this wonderful collaboration. Perhaps, though, he recognised our appreciation for his work from the fact that his remixes are still included on our reissues of our albums and singles.

Our condolences go to his family and all the fans he captivated with his wonderful work over so many years.
